"And take your goddamn plant back, Ukitake!"
Standing just out of sight in the shadow of a dumpster, Naruto watched a small potted plant be thrown out of a second story apartment window towards a drunken man below. The man yelped, ducked, and fell to the ground in an attempt to preserve his head from the airborne plant's assault, yet he only managed to further antagonize the screaming woman.
"Dammit Haruka, what the hell was that for!"
The plant crashed into the opposite wall of the alleyway and rained dirt and clay shards on the pitiful adult.
"You asshole! Why the hell would you spend our entire finances and borrow money so you could buy a goat farm out in Rice Paddy country! Did you think I would go along with being a prostitute just so you could pay back your debt! Go find yourself another girlfriend in the woman you've been seeing behind my back!"
The woman, Haruka, shut her window with a loud thud and yanked the purple curtains closed as a final display of her ire. A few moments later a crash and a scream of anger could be heard from inside the apartment.
The Ukitake lied on the ground, groaning, before attempting to pick himself up and brush off the dirt and clay pot shards. After a few tries, he managed to stumble away towards the entrance of the alleyway his wallet in one hand, muttering about needing a drink.
Naruto waited in the shadows for a couple of minutes, wondering if the woman was going to throw something at the alley wall again or if the man would come staggering back, looking for any lost possessions.
After anyone failed to appear, he quickly scurried to where the man had lied, hoping to find something left behind. Unfortunately, even in the adult's drunken state he was careful not to lose any ryō. The only thing left besides the clay pot shards was the plant, oddly leaning against the alley wall with a small clump of dirt stuck in-between the roots.
Gingerly picking the small plant up, Naruto ran through the alleyway to his apartment with his latest finds. Taking a chipped but large mug from his cupboard and setting the plant inside, Naruto stuck the mug under the tap and filled the plant mug to the brim with water. Setting the plant on the kitchen windowsill, he happily bounded out of the apartment to continue wandering around Konoha, knowing he would have someone waiting for him when he got back.

This might end up turning into a two shot, as this was supposed to be a story about how Naruto gets Mr. Ukki, and then later in turn Kakashi. (I feel as if Naruto would give Mr. Ukki to Kakashi before his training trip with Jiraiya so he wouldn't have to hire a plant sitter to take care of Mr. Ukki.)
In this story, Naruto named Mr. Ukki after Ukitake back in the alleyway, as it was originally Ukitake's paperweight.
This story will probably be fixed or re-written in the future.
