Jim would never even dream of a world without Silver. As far as the boy is concerned, the time before he met with the cyborg barely exists. Things have only gone right since in Jim's life since the two have met. Jim have gotten his life around since that first journey to the treasure planet. He have gotten a place at the interstellar academy, made a name for himself in the interstellar fleet, and gotten his mother's inn rebuilt again. His world is at peace at last, and there is barely anything that can make it change.

Well, except for one thing.

"One day I will die, Jimbo, and I want to make sure that you can take care of yourself once I'm gone." Silver have just brought the line out of thin air when they chatted with each other, and it makes the boy most uncertain. The thought that the cyborg will be gone one day have never hit him in his life, and suddenly he gets very scared that it might happen at any time.

"Don't talk like that, Silver."

"But it is true, lad. One day I will be gone, and that's a fact. So I have started a bankaccount in your name, where I put a certain amount of my salary every month. It will be open to you on the day my death is confirmed, as a part of my testament."

Jim is surprised at what he hears. Not did he have any idea that Silver thought of him even after his own death. "Are you sure about that?" the boy asks, as he doesn't think it is necessary. He have a job at the interstellar fleet, and even if it doens't pay that well there goes no destitution on him.

"Yes, I'm sure, lad. Or else I wouldn't have done it."

Jim isn't as sure as Silver on this. Ever since then the thought of Silver's potential death is in the boy's mind. But as he comes to terms with the idea that Silver have opened an account in his name, the boy wonders if every parent does such a thing for their children.
