DADDY!
A little girl with auburn hair and silvery eyes walked into her father's study, her demeanour suggesting she needed his full and undivided attention. Even at ten years old, you could see that she would be a heart breaker. The man looking over some papers, her father, immediately knew that she meant business. Her cheeks were as flushed as the Gryffindor banner that hung in her cousin, Teddy's room. Her eyes were slightly damp with tears from the childish tantrum that she was much too old to throw. She was extremely angry about something and the man was sure that he would hear about it soon enough.
'Daddy!' she cried, tears welling up in her eyes again. He smiled at her and asked, calm as can be, 'Yes, Angel?' A sob burst out before she exclaimed 'How could you? You knew I wanted to come to King's Cross with you!' His reply came in the same calm tone as his previous statement, 'But, you were sleeping and we didn't want to wake you, sweetheart.' His constant use of terms of endearment suggested that the auburn haired ten year old had him wrapped around her little finger.
'I would have welcomed the disturbance!' came the reply, though it was said a little uncertainly, as if she wasn't sure if the words were true or if she had framed the sentence perfectly. Seeming to make up her mind, she added, 'I really would have! Now I won't see my brother till Christmas and that's four whole months away! We've never been apart for even a week!' She seemed almost hysterical at this point and he paled, knowing that a full blown tantrum would come his way if he didn't find a solution to this current problem. There was an option, though.
Cassiopeia Malfoy's lower lip began to tremble. That was a warning sign. Danger was on its way and would arrive unless he said what he had to. He would rather face his wife's wrath for embarrassing her son than his daughter's for not letting her meet her beloved brother.
'I suppose I could write a letter to the Headmaster. We may be able to visit him, but I'm not sureā¦.' He trailed off and immediately her face brightened. She had been faking. She knew that she had him wrapped around her little finger, but neither would have it any other way. 'Let's keep it a surprise, okay?' She called as she walked out of the study, a little spring in her step.
And later that week, when she shouted, 'Scorpius!' and ran into her surprised brother's arms as soon as she spotted him by the Lake with a few of his friends, Draco Malfoy was one of two people who saw the expression of complete joy on Scorpius Malfoy's face after the shock escaped it. The other person was his wife. Astoria Greengrass-Malfoy laid her head onto her husband's shoulder when he slipped an arm around her waist as they watched their children together.
