Disclaimer: I don't own Startrek:2009.
Look, it's not based on a song! It is yet another oneshot though (sheepish) Half term holidays now and I'm going to visit ma crew at my old work experience placement, yay! Turned out different to how I imagined it but hey, it took me less than 10 minutes to imagine and type up (record much) Right, now I'll go back to writing my Merlin fic like I'm actually meant to, gotta make tommorow's deadline after all, promises promises...
Oh, side note for all my American and anyone else who might not know friends, nought = zero = 0 (yep, that's all I wanted to say)
Spock looked up and held the gaze of the deceptively rock-looking thing that had injured his captain.
There was a 0.4 chance he would win.
Not quite a majority but not far off either, only 0.1 off a 50/50 chance.
Spock tried to ignore the little voice which wouldn't shut up reminding him that is was only 0.4 after some heavy rounding.
He also tried to ignore said injured captain.
"Hey, Spock! What are the odds?"
"Nought point four, captain."
Jim frowned; usually there were a lot more decimal places than that.
"Is that rounded up or down?"
"..."
"Mr. Spo-"
"Irrelevant, Captain. Now if you would grant me the quiet needed for concentration..."
"Fair enough, I won't pull rank, unless of course, you neglect to tell me later."
- In sickbay –
*cough*
"The 'odds' , as you said, Captain, were nought point three five."
*cough cough*
"Nought nought nought one."
"Any more?"
"Yes sir, but due to the stressful situation I didn't calculate past three more noughts, sir."
