Walk Me Down The Middle

Prompt: Walk Me Down The Middle- The Band Perry

I was meant to be by your side.
And I have waited here a long time for you to turn around and notice me.
But now you're here holding hands with me.

Emily had a crush on Hotch the moment she walked into his office the day she came for the job. He was married then, but now he and Haley were divorced. She had always hoped that someday he would notice her.

He had to move on from Haley. Emily hoped he would see she was perfect for him and forget about Haley.

Now, she stood with Aaron at the fair that was in town/ They were holding hands and having the best time together.

Walk me down the middle of the county fair.
Walk me down the middle like you don't care.
Walk me by the Ferris wheel and make sure that she sees.
Let the whole world know you belong to me.

Emily and Aaron were having a great time together. They began to walk toward the Ferris wheel, but Emily stopped when she someone she wasn't expecting to see. Aaron noticed that she stopped and looked to where she was staring. He saw her. Haley.

"Aaron, if you want to wait, we can. We can wait until she's out of sight."

Aaron didn't respond. He squeezed her hand and walked her to the Ferris wheel and past Haley. They could feel Haley's eyes on them. Right as they were about to get on the ride, Aaron pulled Emily in for a kiss. Emily knew this probably caused Haley to almost have a heart attack.

I've heard about your bitter end.
About how she stole your heart and put it back again.
I may not be the prettiest girl around,
But I sure am a sight for sore eyes.

While on the Ferris wheel, Emily had to ask Aaron a question. "So, I heard from Rossi that Haley just left you."
"Yeah, she did. After the case in Milwaukee, I came home and she was gone. She took Jack with her. Eventually, we finalized our divorce and I got visitation rights for Jack."
"Well, Aaron, at least it all worked out for you."
"Yeah, it worked out great." Aaron smiled and leaned in to kiss Emily.

I'd walk through fire for you.
I'd walk through barbed-wire for you.
I'd walk a mile, it's true.
Just to be with you.
If you walk me down the middle of my mama's church,
Walk me down that aisle in your finest shirt.

On Sunday morning, Aaron and Emily walked into church. They were shocked to see Haley sitting in a row nearly ten feet away from them. Emily looked wearily at Aaron. He looked back at her, but there was only strength in his eyes.

He grabbed her hand and walked her down the aisle to the first pew, just as her friend Matthew had done so many years before. They sat down and ignored Haley's gasp of surprise. Emily couldn't hide the smile that stretched across her face from Aaron, though. He looked at her and smiled back, squeezing her hand.

Let the whole world know you will walk me down the middle of the county fair.
Walk me down the middle like you don't care.
Walk me by the Ferris wheel and make sure they all see.
Let the whole world know you belong to me.
