Miss You Being Gone
Prompt: Miss You Being Gone- The Band Perry
Wish I would have noticed sooner all that crazy in your eyes.
Do you practice in the mirror on that tempting, crooked smile?
Like a serpent, in the garden, you come crawling back to me.
Twice I ate that poison apple.
Made me sick of being evil.
Emily wished she had noticed something sooner. She knew Derek could hurt her, but she took her chances anyway.
When she returned from being in hiding, Derek was so sweet to her. She accepted her back right away. He didn't care that she had lied to them.
Emily was so sick of dating jerks. She had to find someone better.
I'll admit that I was wrong.
You said, "I miss you.
Oh, yes I do.
Honey, I miss you being gone."
When Emily returned from being in hiding, she was accepted back with open arms. Derek hugged her and told her how much he missed her. He also shocked her by telling her that the loved her. They began dating and were so happy together.
One day, Emily and Derek were sitting in Emily's living room. They suddenly got into a huge argument and Derek yelled, "You know, Emily, I miss the time when you were gone. It was so much easier when everyone believed you were dead!"
Emily was in such shock that Derek said that, that she didn't feel the tears falling from her eyes. She then yelled back, "If it was so much easier without me, then we're done! We're over! Now, get out of my house!"
Morgan walked out of her apartment and slammed the door behind him. She immediately broke down into a fit of sobs.
I saw that floozy you've been wooing on your ex-best buddies arm.
And I know you'd soon be slinking back, turning on the charm.
Well, Cupid ain't a boozer, in a tavern, throwing dice.
Do you think I walk around with a bulls-eye on my heart?
One week after their break-up, Emily decided to go out to the bar. She was sitting at her table and was shocked to see Derek standing across the room. She saw him hitting on some random girl.
The girl walked away and Derek looked around the room. He spotted Emily and walked toward her. He walked over and began to flirt with Emily.
She just laughed at him. She stood up and walked out of the bar. She was disgusted. How could Derek think he could just flirt with her after they just had a huge break-up and all that he said to her? And he only flirted with her after that other girl turned him down. Who did he think he was?
Well, you know you got the mojo,
But it ain't working me no more.
And I swear I won't be checking you out when you walk out my door.
I'll admit that I was wrong.
Emily was disgusted by what Derek did to was even more disgusted when she went to go answer her door one day and Derek was standing there.
"What?" She asked, no enthusiasm in her voice.
"Emily, can I please come in? I want to talk."
Emily slightly moved to let him and closed the door when he was inside. "What is there to talk about?" She asked.
"Emily, I'm sorry. I never want to hurt you."
"You don't get to apologize. You pretty much said you wish I was dead."
"I know. I regret saying that. I didn't mean any of it. Emily, please forgive me. I love you."
"We're over, Derek. There is no you and I anymore. I don't have any good feelings toward you anymore."
"Fine, Emily. Don't come back trying to get me to be yours again."
"You won't have to worry about that one. Goodbye, Derek."
He walked out of her apartment and she slammed the door behind him.
Emily wouldn't be trying to get him back. She was wrong to even try to make their relationship work. They were meant to have major problems in their relationship. She was just so happy he was finally gone.
You said, "I miss you.
|Oh, yes I do."
And, boy, you got issues.
Honey, I miss you being gone.
Thank God you're gone.
