Halfway to the car Dean swallows and says, "Sam?" He hands the girl off, bends double and retches on the dirty tiles. Hands shaking, he sits in back with her, keeps her from falling off the seat.
At the hospital he lets Sam do the talking, his own head hot and muddled and they take the girl away but it's Mom and Jess they're taking, all transactions final and his breath hitches and Sam's hand is cool in the small of his back, Sam's voice asking softly if he's sure he won't let the nurse check him over.
Dean's sure.
