Suddenly Stane turned into… "Mom." Tony whispered. He froze on one seconds which seemed infinity. Two parts of him fought inside teen's mind. The first told that this is deception and the second part wanted to Maria stays here…with him…even if she was illusion.
He imagined how dad will be cured and his mom will be with them…forever; how he will live in normal family…how everything will be as it should be. He felt that these dreams were utopia. But this utopia was so sweet, so desirable…so painful. Nothing could change the past. Nothing could cure his wounds or wash away memories about all bad things which happened with him.
He looked at "Maria" and understood that it's not his mom. Maria Stark is dead and can live just in his dreams, thoughts, memories, heart. He recognized that this was deception. His last doubts disappeared when he looked in her eyes. There were just hatred and coldness…not kindness or love. "No…my mom's gone…and nothing can return her…"
