I stood at the sink, white knuckled hands gripping the porcelain sides. Water dripped continuously from the rusty faucet.
Plink... plink... plink...
My head spun, my thoughts swirled out of control. Every drop was like a hammer blow to my psyche, as drip by drip my sanity seemed to be cracking and flowing away. I stared into the bathroom mirror into the eyes of a woman who was sliding into the abyss of madness. A mental picture began to form...
She stood on the edge of a cliff, staring down into a misty place...
This was it...
...The hard granite was cracking, cracking all around her...
Here we go...
...With one last snap, the stone gave away, sending the girl falling and shattering into darkness.

morgan145: Hello everyone, this is my second story here on FanFiction.
I've always been fascinated by the Shivering Isles and the concept of madness. I remember installing the expansion, finding the Island in the middle of the bay, stepping through the portal... and just being blown away by everything I found on the other side. Not only was the world absolutely breathtakingly beautiful (especially at nighttime!), the developers also put loving care and detail into all aspects of the game. The characters were incredibly original and memorable, and well as believable, the missions were very well geared to the theme of the expansion, and the story itself was absolutely amazing. Unfortunatly, recently my computer decided that it doesn't want to play it anymore, and crashes every time I try to start the game. I don't know what it is, but now I have to make due without it.
Ok, enough of my review. This story is mainly an exploration of the idea's behind madness and the people of the Shivering Isles. I hope you have as much fun reading this as I am writing it!
Cheers, friends!
