"Humphrey" was the last word she spoke before she crashed her lips into his. Dan immediately tasted the faintest of cherry flavor, as Blair's supple lips pressed against his. Serena always tasted like some kind of cake and Vanessa was more like Carmex. Blair was sweet, and tart-a perfect mixture of sensations to his senses.
Blood rushed from his head like waves pulling away from the shore and he could no longer control the current. He was drowning in her. However, he wasn't going to lose consciousness even with the seemingly lack of air. Not when there were so many questions being created with each breath hitched against the other's seeking lips. Dan's hands danced between soft caresses and hard forceful squeezes to her waist and he couldn't control the urge to minimize the distance between their bodies. He collided against Blair, removing the final agonizing inches between them. A soft moan escaped Blair and in that moment Dan could feel himself growing. Gripping Blair's thigh, he lifted her and wrapped both her legs around his waist. Neither expected it to go this far. Blair braced herself, grabbing a hand full of his dark short curly hair, twisting it between her fingers. Her dress had ridden up her thighs and Dan could feel her soft skin beneath his tips. He was sure he was going to leave marks of himself he was gripping so firmly. Blair was unconsciously rocking her weight against Dan in a desperate attempt to gain friction. The touch of his skin on her skin was sending shivers down her spine.
What was this? Both curiously thinking but not having the strength to pull away and say. They were both desperately searching for an exit strategy- a moment in which they could deny this and go on with their plans of not being friends but none arose- until the faintest ring of an elevator bell echoed in their ears.
Dan and Blair immediately detached themselves and replaced those agonizing inches they once removed with "holy shit, this might still be a little too close" inches. They stood an abnormally far distance away from each other when footsteps approached. Dan's heart raced as Dorota rounded the corner with Blair's name flicking off her tongue in her signature accent. "Mr. Chuck and Ms. Serena are here for you" She announces, leaving the pair's heart thumping louder than their loins. "Act natural" Dan whispered as Serena bounced into the foyer with Chuck wallowing behind.
"Blair! We needed—" Serena begins before stopping and noting Dan's presence. She smiles lightly before inquiring what was going on. Blair looked unkempt and if you knew their story there would be no question that something was happening before they were rudely interrupted. Unusually flustered, Blair stumbled over her usually quick witted words before Dan interrupted to offer a life saver. "I was coming to see you actually. After the party I was headed to the loft and Ben sent me a text saying he was moving out. Thought I'd come over and see how you were doing." Blair let out a silent sigh. He managed to omit the truth for the purpose of self preservation in an amazing fashion. Maybe they weren't opposites. Serena, swallowing the half truth, went on to explain why she and Chuck were there.
