Part of my 'Late Night Poetry' series that has become sort of my ritual recently, no idea why. I did always felt like the scene at the end of 'Blind Betrayal could've been done a little better, anyway here you go.
Let me know what you think in reviews, always love the feedback
Here I am - my mission is clear,
To become your executioner,
I tell myself there are no room for tears,
My gun is pointed to your face,
Yet you look at me with no fear,
There is only peace.
You tell me it has to be this way,
but why?
You know not of this decision upon my heart this weighs,
You tell me you are not real,
then tell me Danse,
what is it that you feel?
You tell me you know naught of what I am talking about,
yes you do,
regardless of what jargon Maxson spouts,
because I feel it too,
You tell me this is wrong,
that your soul is synthetic,
but if that is so then why is this feeling so strong?
As the rivers flow down my cheeks,
I toss my gun aside,
I have made my decision,
Running to you with my arms wide,
and with a tender embrace,
I tell you that I refuse to let you die,
Your arms circle me as I close my eyes,
This world has taken everything from me,
You question how I could love something that was designed,
I just smile and say
"Love, my dear Danse, is blind,"
