The sun was beginning to set and the temperature was starting to settle down. Sheik dashed through Hyrule field hurriedly, destination: Ordon Village, all in hopes of finding the one person who could help him. "Where are you Link?", wondered Sheik as he hastened his speed. Upon arriving in front of Link's home, Sheik let out a low gasp of air. Having ran all the way from Hyrule Castle, it was only natural to be so tired, nonetheless, there was no time to waste. Sheik remember why he had come, and quickly he composed himself.
In a puff of gray smoke, Sheik vanished and instantly reappeared inside Link's home. It was now dark out, and the moon had risen. The house was pitch black, and Sheik couldn't see a single thing. Standing still, Sheik listened for the presence of Link, or anyone else for that matter. It currently wasn't safe to be out right now, and he didn't know if someone had gotten to Link before him. After a few seconds of listening, Sheik heard a the floorboards creek behind him. Rapidly, Sheik turned, grasping his sword near the mysterious figure's neck.
"And you are?", said Link, holding his own sword towards Sheik's chest. Had it not been for the pieces of cloth covering the lower part of Sheik's face, Link would have seen the grin that resided beneath. "As expected, always alert. However, don't be troubled by my unexpected arrival" , said Sheik in a low, serious tone. Before Link could respond, Sheik suddenly began to glow a faint yellow color that consumed the dark room. Link held his arms over his eyes, the bright light reminiscing from Sheik blinding his sight. Once the light faded, Link's eyes adjusted to the now, once again dark room. He stared, with a confused expression, at the person that now stood in front of him. Elegant and beautiful, Princess Zelda stood before Link.
"Ganondorf is not dead. His vast army has taken control of Hyrule and he desires our demise. My army and I were no match for him, and my Kingdom is now under control. I managed to escape Hyrule Castle with my disguise, all in hope of finding you. Link, we must destroy Ganondorf once and for all."
Flashbacks played through Link's mind, he clearly remembered he killed Ganondorf. There was no possibility of his current existence. "How did this happen? Minda and I went through so much, all in hopes of restoring Hyrule to the peaceful land is once was."
"Unfortunately, that was not enough to destroy Ganondorf, and Hyrule's new found peace was only for a short time. Coincidentally, I also know of how to destroy Ganondorf. We must travel to the same destinations you went through on your first journey. Hidden within those dungeons is what we need to destroy Ganondorf. Quickly now Link, we must leave as soon as possible towards our first destination."
Link nodded, it was his duty to save Hyrule, he had always known that. "Your right Princess, we have no other choice, we must make sure Ganondorf is destroyed once and for all. We will begin our journey at the forest temple, seeing as how it's the nearest."
"Agreed, we will first travel to the Forest Temple. Also, it would be best for you to refer to me as Sheik from now on. I will maintain that persona for the remainder of our journey, danger seems to track down those of the Royal family."
"Of course, I understand", responded Link knowing that Ganondorf would be searching for the Princess.
"Very Well…". Once more, brightness consumed the room as Zelda transformed to her alter ego, Sheik. "Prepare yourself, it will be a long journey."
