All of Gryffindor sixth year was scattered about the common room. Lily was sprawled along the red cushy couch, one leg dangling down, the other slung over the arm of the couch. Her back arched slightly so her hand could reach behind her neck and pull her long thick red hair over her shoulder in one graceful movement. When she relaxed back against the couch, she turned her head back to face James Potter, - who was sitting in a spinny desk chair, knees dragged up to his chest, feet on the seat- Sirius Black, -who was sitting upside down in an armchair, his black hair hanging and only an inch from touching the floor- Remus Lupin, - who was seated cross legged on the love seat, a book open but face down on his knee to save his spot- and Peter Pettigrew- who was sitting on the ground, looking down, running his hand over the carpet nervously. James shifted slightly so he was sitting up straighter when he saw Lily's eyes in his direction; his mouth twitched up into a half smile, the chair drifting to the left slightly.
Lily rolled her eyes and turned her head to look at her friends. Alice was sitting on the coffee table, legs criss-crossed, Molly sitting behind her. Marlene was occupying the spot next to Remus, but she was draped the arm of the love seat slightly so her hand dangled down, resting on Sirius' chest. Lily asked, an eyebrow raising, "Why are we here again?"
Alice's mouth turned into a smirk and she asked teasingly, "What? Not happy to see Loverboy?"
James' eyes flickered with confusion, not sure whether to feel insulted or not. Lily sighed, "No, Alice, no I'm not."
Well, James knew how to feel about that. His eyes looked down, the bright glint that was in them previously going away, his slight smile falling. Sirius's mouth stretched into a grin and he commented teasingly, "Aw, Evans, you hurt Jamesies feelings."
James snapped, "Shut up!" He kicked the side of the armchair so the chair spun away from everyone.
Marlene laughed and commented, "Nice one, Siri" Sirius smiled, is eyes glinting slightly.
Molly sighed and said, "Anyway. We're here becaaauuuuse we're playing Truth or Dare!"
Lily sat up slightly, folding her arms. She asked dryly, "And you expect me to play?"
James shifted and turned so he was kneeling, his arms slung around the back of the chair. He asked, his eyes big like a puppy's- although we all know that Sirius should be the one making puppy dog eyes- "You will, won't you, Lilypad?"
Remus rolled his eyes and muttered, "James, really, you need to think of better pet names."
Lily said without thinking, "I think it's rather cute." When a silence fell, Lily looked up. After a moment she stammered, "I-I m-mean it could be worse!"
After another quiet moment, Sirius said, "Alright, anyway, I'll go first! Marlene, truth or dare?"
Marlene thought for a moment, "... Dare!"
Sirius grinned, "Kiss Lily"
Lily rolled her eyes, "I am NOT having my first kiss with a girl. Sorry."
Sirius said, "Hey, Marlene's the one who chose dare!"
Remus laughed, "According to the rules, it does have to happen."
James' eyes turned panicked, his eyes flickering from person to person. Lily sighed, "Whatever."
James spazzed. He tipped the chair over and suddenly his lips were on Lily's, kissing her a little harder than he meant but with all of the feeling behind it. Lily's eyes flashed wide and she ripped away from him. She stammered, "Wh-what the hell, James?!"
He flushed, and looked down like a guilty five year old. He whispered, "Well at least now it won't be your first kiss..."
Lily's cheeks warmed and finally, she laughed. After a minute or so of hysterical laughter she said, "James, you're an idiot." She kissed his cheek softly.
