I wrote this because of the lack of moral in the Wonderbeetle fandom. A cross between fluff and angst, if that's possible.

Summary: Honestly, she doesn't know how many times she's heard a certain Jaime Reyes say sorry in the past few days. But it is starting to piss her off.

"I'm sorry."

She didn't know how many times she'd heard a certain Jaime Reyes say those words in the past few days. He'd said them to each member of the team at least ten times, and she was pretty sure that he'd said them to Bart more like a million.

And it was starting to. Piss. Her. Off.

She understood that he had a basis for all these sorry's. Ok, so yes, he did go 'mode' and betray the team and blah blah blah. But he didn't mean to. In fact, he was trying to save them!

Which was the point she decided she was going to make as Jaime came up for his – count it! – eleventh sorry to her.

She grabbed him by the arm, ignoring the faint 'ow' that he squeaked, and dragged him to a private room in the watchtower.

"You listen to me, Blue! You need to stop saying sorry. For one, it wasn't your fault! And two, it's really starting to make me mad!" she burst out as soon as they were behind closed doors.

"W-what?" Jaime said, before yelling right back at her, "Not my fault?! Not my fault? Do you know how many of the team I hurt? And…and I betrayed you all! I stapled you to the damn ground, Cassie!"

She stared at him. "Seriously? Jaime, Green Beetle was evil, and he tricked you – no, all of us! It's not like I wouldn't have done the same thing if I was you – actually, scratch that. I wouldn't have done the same thing, because I'm selfish and not half as heroic as you are! You were willing to sacrifice your life – you god damn life! – to save us all, and then you walk around having the nerve to apologize? You – you ass!"

She stood there panting from her outburst as he stared at her.

"You don't mean that." He said softly. "There's no way you can. Not after what I did."

"After what you did? Jaime-" He held up his hand, stopping her.

"How will any of you be able to trust me anymore? I betrayed you guys! For all you know, I could still be on mode! I wouldn't even know! I didn't know at first before, and then the beetle controlled me, and I couldn't do anything."

"Oh." She whispered. "That's it."

"That's what?"

"You don't think you deserve to be trusted anymore." He opened his mouth to talk, but she cut him off. "But you know what, Jaime? You're the most trustworthy, kind, heroic guy I know. And yeah, maybe at first we'll – Nightwing and a few others – will be wary of you, but we had Miss M and the Martian Manhunter look in your head and they claim you're good, and besides, even if they weren't sure, it wouldn't matter, because I trust you."

He looked at her in surprise. "Do you really mean that?"

She looked down, not meeting his eyes. "Of course I do. Every word. You're amazing, Jaime."

He laughed. "That's ironic, coming from you, Wonder Girl."

She laughed to, and they settled into a comfortable silence.

Which she proceeded to break. "Jaime?"

"Yeah?"

"Would you mind if I – ah never mind." She stopped, blushing.

"You what?" he looked at her, curious.

"If I kiss you?" she squeaked, her cheeks even more red than before.

"I-uh." He looked surprised, and she started to turn away, because, duh, Cassie, just because he called you Wonder Girl (you superhero name! That a bunch of people call you!) doesn't mean he likes you.

"Cassie – um, no I wouldn't." She whirled back in surprise, as he stood there bashfully.

"Oh." She said. "So I can?" He looked up, nodded, and said, "Yeah. I'd like that. A lot."

"Okay." She said. "But only if you stop saying sorry." He smiled at her, a real Jaime Reyes smile, and nodded.

And then she kissed.
