Disclaimer: I don't own Shinjeki No Kyojin/Attack on Titan or the song 'Far From Home' (which the title is from) by Five Finger Death Punch so don't shout at me! Please...

Every day Levi would write a letter home from his position in the trenches. All of them would start 'To my dearest Eren' and all of them would finish 'I miss you and I love you, yours truly Levi'.

Eren received every letter his lover sent him but he never sent back, knowing that it might not reach him in case he moved position.

The two had been inseparable since the day they had met, falling in love instantaneously. So when Levi was called to go to war, Eren had been distraught, begging him not to leave.

In the end, the ravenette left but every day he would write a letter reminding his brunette lover that they would always be together, through thick and thin.

One day though, Eren didn't receive a letter in the post. The younger half of the couple cried for hours, not being able to think of anything but that Levi, /his/ Levi was dead.

Hearing the sobs from outside, the soldier burst into the house seeing the brunette sobbing loudly in a chair next to the fire, clutching the stack of letters in his hand.

He watched as one by one the letters were thrown into the fire. Every letter shattered his already damaged heart. He rushed over, putting his hand over Eren's.

The brunette looked up and stood quickly, disregarding the paper in his hands. He threw his arms around the soldier's shoulders, lifting him up and crushing him to his chest.

The day Eren didn't receive a letter was the best day of his life. That was the day he got Levi back. His Levi.

A/N: This is a short little story I wrote in the car home from visiting my grandma in hospital. I heard the song 'Far From Home' come one and the plot just popped into my head. I hope you liked it! Please review, I would love to hear what you thought of it!
