-Help Me-
-Chapter One-
Legolas Greenleaf sat on the hill, watching the green grass ripple from the
wind. The sun was high in the sky, bringing a warmth to Lothlorien. He
squinted around for signs of anyone to talk to. He frowned when he found no
one and got up. Heavily sighing, he made his way down the hill and into the
forests.
Orcs were taking over every part of Mirkwood, so he was forced to flee for his life. Many had died, left behind, or merely gave up hope and left to live somewhere else. And that was how we found our young Legolas here in Lothlorien.
"But Elrond it has to be safe here! You don't understand! There's nowhere else to go!" a young elves voice shouted from in the trees.
Legolas looked around for a second, expecting to see someone. No one came into sight.
"Elena, I am sorry but you have to go. In a few days we will be swarmed with orcs!" Elrond's voice rang out.
Legolas' lips pursed into a frown. He furred his brow and tried to listen more closely.
"But, Elrond, where will I go?" Elena asked.
"You shall find a way, my dear. You shall find the way. The attack is coming, I suggest you leave as soon as possible."
Legolas quickly hid behind a tree as he saw Elrond pass him, and walk up the hill. He stepped out from the tree and heard Elena's voice again. He turned around to leave the forest but came face-to-face with a beautiful female elf.
"So you must be the famous Legolas Greenleaf?" she said in a tone while rolling her eyes. "Elrond has told me much about you. I'm Elena."
"As much as I'd love to stay and chat, from what I heard we're all gonna die unless we leave now."
"You silly boy. I'm not going anywhere," Elena said while sitting down on a large tree stump. "You can go on but I'm not leaving Lothlorien."
Legolas sighed. "Well then, congratulations on making yourself dinner for the orcs."
Legolas turned to walk away when Elena stopped him.
"Wait!" Elena called out, tying her long blonde hair back into a low ponytail.
Legolas stopped and turned around. "What is it?"
"I want to come with you," Elena told him bluntly.
Legolas did a double take. First, this girl wanted nothing to do with him and now she wants to follow him around.
"I thought you were staying here?" he asked.
Elena looked at the ground and then back up into his blue eyes. "I've changed my mind."
Legolas smiled. "Come one then. We've got a long way to go."
Elena placed her bow and sack of arrows on her back and set off with Legolas through the trees. They walked until it was too dark to see the path in front of them.
"Where are we exactly?" Elena asked. "It's really hot and I'm hungry!" she complained.
"Well I'm sorry your queen but out our finest inn is not ready for you," Legolas replied sarcastically. "We're camping out here."
He dropped his sack and bow to the forest floor and sat down by a large rock.
"Here?" Elena asked disgusted.
"That's what I said, is it not?"
Elena sighed.
"You've never been outside Lothlorien, have you?" Legolas asked amused.
"For your information I haven't. Is that such a big deal to you?" she replied, looking somewhat hurt.
"No, it's not. All I can say is you're in for a big surprise. This is nothing like sleeping in Lothlorien."
