As a jedi, I have travelled far and wide. In my travels I have seen worlds and people beyond imagining. These are the ideas that people tell you jedi stand for, protectors of the galaxy, heroes of the Republic, to keep the forces of the dark at bay. These are the reasons why in my time you would join the order. I joined the order so as to aid the people of the universe whom all else put to silence.
Those who could not help themselves and all others could not be bothered to help them. Because they were strange? Because they were poor? Or so in need that all thought the next would surely help them? I did not pretend to understand the motives of such people. I knew that with such prowess and abilities I would gain when I became a jedi, I could help all those people, the distraught, those whose desperate hopes are swaying in the breeze of another passing day without a guiding force to pull them through so that they may to stand tall and dare to be the dreamers who would make their hopes reality, no matter their personal sacrifice.
I always believed that if I could help someone, or somehow improve their life, I could never forgive myself if I let that opportunity pass me by. People always say "You are who you choose to be." I say that this is a half-truth. In reality, for one to draw to life their hopes, they must believe in every corner of their soul that they CAN. If they falter and waver, fall by the way side and claim to have moved on from a foolish dream, those are the ones who are too afraid to Dare. To fight with every part of mind, body, and soul to inch ever closer to that final goal, to be kicked down like a dog and told they cannot, to only get back on the path and keep pushing onward. Those are the people who will shape the world to their will. That is why I believe you are who you DARE to be.
Such people I have surprisingly found are few and far between. In the times on the path in the dark, those are the times one proves their resolve. In the times in the dark, even I have been disheartened and disappointed. The key is to never give up that spark of who you are, and who you dare to be.
I am, was, a Master of the Jedi Order, but no longer, yet that is a story for another time. I am Calter Zerov. I am one who will dare to be the bold inspirer of those around me, the one to never quit when all turns to dust. As such, what kind of person are you?
