Loyalty
By SMYGO4EVA
Belonging to the shadows, taking any word that one says and use it against them, the one called Soundwave is silent in nature. He stands by the true leader of the Decepticons, as he is nothing if not loyal, even though he never says it out loud, never uttering a single sound. He would record and repeat what one has said, almost at all times, catching every nanoklik and every little detail so that they would be put to good use. Everything around him was full of sound, full of noise, and always making silence crumble, yet he himself has not uttered a word, not even in code or the native Cybertronian language. He would play those noises and utterances that he records, a satellite linked to all communications which makes muteness impossible, and it is what makes the humans so vulnerable, all the more useful for the Decepticon cause.
Soundwave echoes their voices, in the means to be less than insects and more like pawns, chess pieces that they have on Earth, so that he could be all the more faithful to Lord Megatron. The other subordinates accuse him of being a simple pawn in Megatron's game, but he knows that he is worth of his master's presence, as he would not be the Decepticon he was if it wasn't for their master. Once or twice in passing, those same subordinates accused him of using them to take Megatron's place.
It was pitiful that little did they know that Soundwave is nothing if not loyal. He held all sounds, all words, any traitorous voices, playing them back, repeating them, noises pulsating in his processor and head to be of good use. Everything Soundwave had ever done was to preserve the place of the Decepticons in their world, not a want to destroy it.
Soundwave was loyal. He lurked in the background, as he was the eyes and ears of the Decepticons and hearing everything aboard the Nemesis, a shape shifter in the shadows permeating within the vessel. The new partnership of the Autobots and the humans was going to destroy the Decepticons and all they had worked for, sell them out to the military of Earth, obliterate thousands of years' worth of culture and knowledge just to placate the filthy humans and the Autobots. For his master, Soundwave would rather choose to have his spark extinguished.
Lord Megatron had the right idea. He wanted to protect their cause from the Autobots, just like he did back on Cybertron. Even as his colleagues would tell he would have to choose some other Decepticon's leadership over Megatron's, claim a lost cause, move forward if Megatron's spark is destroyed, he would allow no such thing.
Though he had no use for a vocal processor, no visible optics for one to look into except their own reflection, Soundwave knew that he was a vital part of the Decepticons, as Megatron would not be where he was without him, looking for the power that was rightfully his. He felt no need to voice this. He was silent for a reason – with a voice, it was useless to talk back to the leader, who was rightfully chosen, and those who talked back could never keep their mouth shut. He was loyal to them since the day the movement was born, and now the Autobots and the rest of Cybertron want to punish him for that loyalty. Without a vocal processor, he would see and hear all, as it was his only purpose, and nothing more. He would never break that silence; never let them force him to repent for rebuilding the future.
Never uttering a single word, Soundwave does his Lord's bidding and lurks in the darkness of the Nemesis ship and of Earth without question. It was all to prove his loyalty to Lord Megatron, to the Decepticons, and no one would dare question it.
