Mr. Gold had warned Belle that this movie might be very frightening and reassured her that he would be right there. Still, as the spooky music played and bright red blood splattered across the screen, Belle found herself more amused than frightened.

So she was surprised when the masked serial killer jumped out of his hiding place, and Mr. Gold was suddenly hiding his face in her hair.

"Rumplestiltskin?" she said, trying not to laugh. "Are you frightened?"

He pulled back immediately, straightening his shirt self-consciously. "Of course not. I just thought — you might be afraid."

This time Belle did laugh. "You were the most feared man in all the realms — the beast told of in stories to frighten small children — and you're afraid of a man in a plastic mask?"

"Don't be ridiculous." Gold turned back to the movie, deliberately avoiding looking at her.

Belle laughed again and grabbed his head, guiding it back towards her.

"Belle—"

She stopped his protest with a kiss.

They forgot about the movie after that.
