Always Late

"Sever-uh, do that again - we really don't have time for this - mmmh, oh that feels so good -"

"If you think I'm going to stop, you can think again," Severus murmured against Harry's neck. "We can afford to be a little late."

"Have you - urgh - met Molly Weasley? She's - oh god - worse than you when I'm - Merlin - late."

"I'm obviously not doing this right if you're still so coherent."

"..."

Harry clung to Severus' hand as they flooded into the Burrow together, thirty five minutes later than the agreed time. He'd tried to make himself look as though he'd not just been ravished to within an inch of his life, but he was sure he'd failed completely.

"HAPPY BIRTHDAY!"

Harry jumped back, finding his arse wedged against Severus as the older man settled him, holding him lightly so he wouldn't leap for his wand.

He looked around at his friends with a sheepish smile, accepting the hugs and kisses to the cheek they offered one by one.

"Sorry we're late, Mrs Weasley," he apologised, when she drew him into his arms.

"Oh, really dear, you're always at least half an hour late, so I told you to arrive half an hour before we actually wanted you."

Harry let his eyebrow as he turned to look at Severus, who was smirking smugly at him.

When Harry finally made his way back to his partner, Severus pulled him into his arms, holding him against his chest.

"That was just one part of your birthday present," he murmured in Harry's ear. "You can enjoy the rest when we get home."

Harry grinned as he pressed his lips to Severus' cheek. "I can't imagine what could possibly top that, but I look forward to finding out."
