Title: Stolen Moments
Summary: She lived for their stolen moments.
..
Sam had learned at a young age that life was unfair. The man who stood a few feet away from her was a reminder of this. There was a mostly unspoken agreement between them that their lust or love or whatever you wanted to call it – would have to fall to the wayside while SG-1 saved the world time after time. It would be selfish for them to think that a relationship was more important than what they did as a team.
So, she lived for the stolen moments. She would lay awake at night and relive these moments over and over in her mind. His hand brushing a lock of hair behind her ear, the way his eyes held hers and spoke to her without his lips moving, the way his hand would brush against her skin sending shivers up her spine… oh she could go on forever.
"Are you alright Carter?" She looked over at the Colonel and gave him a small smile.
"Yes Sir." She sighed internally. He had beautiful hands… long fingers that had fuelled many fantasies of hers. Those fingers were currently wrapped around his firearm and they were stood guarding the gate while they waited for Daniel and Teal'c to return.
"Hope it's a good one." He sent a smirk her way and she resisted the urge to roll her eyes.
"Good what Sir?" She asked innocently.
"The daydream you keep losing yourself in today," he answered.
"It's all we have." She whispered, more to herself than to him. To her surprise he seemed to hear her and she felt a blush rise up her neck.
"Yes it is," there was a serious note to his voice and she peeked at him from below her lashes, still embarrassed she had spoken her thoughts aloud. She normally prided herself on self-control. His eyes spoke volumes as they held her gaze. She couldn't look away, even if she had wanted to… she felt her heart skip a beat. He knew exactly what she had been thinking about.
..
The End.
