"I look gay."
"You look tough."
"Are you sure?" Ianto tugged at the metal necklace constricting his throat and considered his reflection in the mirror. "The necklace maybe, but the studded belt?"
"I'm sure." Lisa said from the bed, the hum and beep of the life support machines underscoring her words. "And compliment his coat. Jack Harkness is a vain man. Believe me, it will help."
Looking back Ianto could see that he was her rent boy going out to earn his keep. Not the brave warrior he had seen himself as at the time.
The next day he had taken matters into his own hands. His own clothes. Coffee and a well delivered argument. Jack had liked the coffee, but overall it hadn't gone well. Lisa was mad. "That wasn't the plan."
The pterodactyl had been a boon. It was Lisa's idea that he should wear the suit.
"Why would I wear a suit to hunt a pterodactyl?"
"It makes you look efficient."
"I look like a tosser."
"Trust me."
She had been right. Captain Jack Harness had liked the suit. Lisa knew the right cards to play. Too hard bodies pressed together had clinched the deal.
