AN: I realized I haven't posted in the longest time! I'm usually not one for prequels, but I've had this little thing saved on my computer forever and I guess I just wanted to put it up. I'm not sure if I'll continue this, but I hope you enjoy it anyway!
Sincerely,
bbraeislove
There were tears on either sides of her face. They dripped off her chin and landed on the rocky ground below. The entire place shook as the volcano beneath commenced rupturing. She was alone. Completely alone. She would be alone forever now. It hurt, but she was convinced she was doing the right thing. It was the wrong she was correcting. It was the fault she was erasing. Afterwards, everything would be okay, even if she wouldn't be. She closed her eyes and summoned her powers, letting out a long screech before the volcanic contents enveloped her.
Terra sat up in her bed with a scream. Her room looked normal; nothing was different. The moonlight shined on her form, letting it cast a long and gangly shadow on the opposite wall. She slowly let out the breath she'd been holding, realizing that once again; she was only having a nightmare.
"The same nightmare," she muttered. Terra scowled, trying to remember her horror-like dream. Every attempt she made at recalling failed, and it aggravated her. The nightmare repeated every time she managed to doze off. Every time it happened, she would awake with a scream. Every time she screamed, her parents would come rushing to her door. Every time they would arrive, she would tell them she was fine. She knew she wasn't fine, but she just couldn't understand why. The dreams were so vivid, almost as though they were real. Yet the blond would never remember a thing when she woke up.
The door opened wide with a creak and a darkened body stepped into the room.
"Terra, are you alright?" a deep male voice asked. The body walked over to the girl's bed and revealed itself to belong to Terra's father. He sat on the edge and turned to face his daughter, looking at her face in search of any alarming signs.
"I'm fine. It was just another nightmare," Terra smiled with what she assumed were reassuring eyes. She was glad that it had been her father who'd come to check on her, as he was easier to convince. She watched as his eyes glazed over in thought and then lightened a bit when he smiled as well.
"Okay," he said, leaning in. Terra's smile widened and she pecked him on the cheek, watching him rise, leave and close her bedroom door before slipping back under her cover and falling asleep.
