It was raining.
Two figures stood under the light of a street lamp. A cold night breeze blew past them.
"Hinata I – "
"Save it Sasuke…" started Hinata, looking down, her tears mixing with rain as they fell from her lavender eyes.
"But Hinata – I, I love you." confessed Sasuke, desperately trying his best to make her stay.
Hinata's shoulders became rigid as more tears fell. Memories of Naruto and heartbreak flashed through her mind.
"Never say I love you, if you don't really care,"
"I love you Hinata-chan!" yelled Naruto, grinning happily.
"Naruto! Hinata-chan's crying!" yelled Sakura. "And so?"
"Never talk about feelings if they aren't really there."
"Love. It's a really great thing!" yelled Naruto.
"It wasn't love." He said, his back facing her.
"Never hold my hand if you're going to break my heart"
Naruto took Hinata's hand in his.
"Never say you're going to if you don't plan to start."
"I'm going to protect you!"
'Naruto-kun…' thought Hinata, seeing Naruto look at her emotionlessly as she lay injured on the cold ground.
"Never look into my eyes if all you do is lie."
Blue eyes stared at her lavender ones.
"I love you."
"Never say hello if you really mean goodbye."
"Hello Hinata." Greeted Naruto as he passed her by in the hall.
"If you really mean forever, then say you will try."
"Forever Hinata. I promise."
"Never say forever 'cause forever makes me cry."
More tears fell from her eyes, the wounds on her heart reopening, the hurt increasing a hundred fold.
"Good bye." She said as she turned to leave. She couldn't advance because Sasuke caught her wrist.
"Hinata…"
"I'm telling you I love you 'cause I really care.
I might not talk about feelings, but they're really there.
When I hold your hand, I'm careful with your heart.
I don't say I'm going to 'cause I've already made a start.
When I look into your eyes, its impossible to lie

Hinata turned to look at Sasuke's pleading onyx orbs and she only saw truth. She couldn't contain herself and she sobbed into his chest as he held onto her as if she would disappear if he were to let go.
