DUO GOES IT ALONE
Heero Yui had been keeping an eye on events since the war with Oz ended, which isn't to say he wasn't continuing with life. Currently, the Perfect Soldier was finishing high school, occasionally making friendly contact with the other pilots and even successfully evading Relena's attempts to find him. All in all life wasn't turning out so bad and Heero had even started to feel like he was living and not just existing. In the beginning he didn't even want to work with any other Gundam pilots, but now it was nice to have friends who were as close as brothers. Especially Duo. Heero's mind wandered to thoughts of the braided one. Just last week Duo had made the trip to Heero's high school dorm where they talked, had lunch, played some intense basketball, flirted with two cute classmates of Heero's (convincing Heero to ask Tsunami out) and ended the evening by getting hilariously drunk together. Last he remembered, Duo was going to another school on Earth, and planning to enroll in a seminary college after graduation. Thoughts like these always cheered him up from any depths.
Which is why the nature of the email he received from Duo a moment ago was such a shock.
"Yo, Hee-chan. Keeping this brief in case I'm being watched. They may already know where I am, could even be watching me now. I know you've been keeping tabs in case trouble of an apocalyptic kind rears its head again. WELL HERE IT IS!!! I can't say much, I've disguised the address I'm sending the email to, hope its enough. Not sure about involving the others. Where can I meet up with you?" -Duo.
Heero noticed this email had been sent only two and a half minutes ago, so he responded as quickly as his fingers could type.
"Meet me at the 'Evil Beans' coffee shop across from the campus. We've been there before, I trust you can find it. I'm all ears." -Heero.
The Perfect Soldier hit the 'send' button and made his way to the coffee shop, and towards a destiny he had thought he had escaped.
