Tears fell from his face as he stared down at his lap. There lay a young girl. She was wearing the customary school uniform sailor suit that was soaked in blood. However, her face had a peculiar serenity about it.
He knew that she was dying. There was just too much blood, and he didn't have to be Hatori to know that the knife wound was fatal. When it came down to it, he hadn't been able to protect her. He hadn't been able to stand up to Akito when it had really counted.
It was all his own fault. Even now, there was no way that he could blame his god, but how could he continue with out her. She was the only girl he had ever loved… and the only one that had ever loved him, even his own mom had abandoned him. All thanks to the curse.
He had tried his best to try and hide their relationship, and he had thought that he had done a good job. The only person who might have known was Shigure, but he had a way of knowing everything. How stupid can you get! For a while he believed that they were safe. That they could continue in their own little world. Then today, while he was helping her with her homework yet again, He had walked in, so angry that it tore at the poor young mans soul. A million thoughts went through his mind. Had Shigure betrayed them? Had it been his own carelessness? Had they been seen together? None of that mattered at the moment, however.Because of the events of less than a hour ago, he was now holding this wonderful fading flower as she passed away.
"Don't cry," she said lifting her hand with much effort to cup his cheek. "We should enjoy the precious time that we have together no matter what," The girl gave him a weak smile.
He tried to return it, but he just couldn't. This was the last time he would see that smile. They would never be together again. He would never hear her talk, or laugh or play the violin again.
He looked down at the face below him that was covered in its own blood, and his tears. It took all of his strength to chock out the words "Good bye, Momo.
"Good bye, Nii-chan."
