Gavin never cried.
He had said it before himself; he'd even gone to family member's funerals and not cried. He supposed that he just didn't need to, he never really questioned it too much. It was just something that never really happened.
Until now.
Gavin had only broken one of Michael's XBox controllers on accident; no big deal, Gavin thought. Contrary to popular belief, Michael wasn't nearly as easily angered as said. He was actually quite gentle when it came to Gavin, at least. So to say the least, Gavin was surprised when Michael completely flipped at him.
Now, Gavin had noticed Michael being a bit more stressed then usual. He didn't think too much of it; it happened to the best of them. But this... Gavin wouldn't have ever expected this.
Shouting, yelling, pretty much every swear-word in the book. Michael was facing the wall opposite of Gavin, shouting calming down just a bit. After a few more minutes of yelling, Michael ran a hand through his hair, turning to Gavin, though his eyes were still clenched shut.
"You're such a fucking pain in the ass, Gavin. I don't even know why I deal with your shit all the time." Michael said through clenched teeth, face flushed and ears red from yelling so much. After a few more moments with no response from his boyfriend, Michael opened his eyes.
And he was stunned at what he saw.
Gavin's face was flushed light red, looking down as many streams of tears rolled down his cheeks and dripped off his chin. His entire body was shaking lightly, and his hands were in his lap.
"Gavin..?" Michael asked quietly, reaching a hand out to him slightly.
At that, the Brit raised his hands up to his face, covering it completely. A few tears still slipped down the sides of his hands.
"Gavin, babe.." Michael breathed, sitting beside Gavin and pulling him into his lap, wrapping his arms around his midsection. In return, the Brit wrapped his arms around Michael's neck loosely, burying his face in the crook of his neck. "Gavin..Gavin, I'm so fucking sorry, I..I didn't mean to make you cry.." He said softly, rubbing soothing circles in the small of his back.
Gavin's breathing was uneven, tears still flowing down his cheeks. Michael rocked back and forth lightly, pressing gentle, careful kisses to Gavin's neck ever so often. "Gav... I'm sorry, Gav.." Michael said softly. He felt terrible; he never meant to make Gavin cry, he didn't even really mean to shout. It kind of just.. happened. So, in hopes to stop his crying, Michael gently laid back on the bed they were sitting on. He pulled Gavin away from him slightly, just enough for him to press light kisses over his eyes. "I'm sorry, Gavin..." Michael said, peppering light kisses along Gavin's face.
Michael hugged him tightly, arms protective around him. After a few minutes of hugging, light kisses and reassuring words, Gavin's tears dried and breathing evened out. "Gavin, I'm sorry..."
"It's okay, Michael, I just didn't expect you to start yelling.."
Michael pressed a light, gentle kiss to Gavin's lips, cupping his cheek lightly. After a few moments, Michael pulled away, leaning his forehead against Gavin's.
"I promise, Gavin, I'll never yell at you outside of work ever again. I love you, and I never want to see you cry ever again."
