The Fallout
Lindsay tapped her pencil on her desk; it was her imagination playing a trick on her. There was no way this could be happening, they had been so happy, and he wouldn't just throw it all away? Would he? She cursed herself for letting her imagination run away again, she was going to stay rational until she talked to him about it, and there was no reason to get worked up over nothing. It had to be nothing; he was too good of a man to let it be something, right? Lindsay looked at the clock, he would be here any minute and she could get to the bottom of it.
"Hey Montana." Danny said bending down to kiss her, when she didn't respond he got worried, "Everything okay?"
"Who is Alyse?" Danny froze, "She called yesterday and needed to find you, it sounded pretty important." Lindsay stated calmly.
"I promise you it isn't what you are thinking."
"So you haven't been lying to me and sneaking around behind my back?"
"Okay it is what you are thinking, but I-"
"You have an excuse for your behavior, are you kidding me?" Lindsay asked cutting him off.
"Not an excuse, I want you to know that I wasn't cheating on you."
"What else are you doing with a girl behind my back?"
"Alyse is an old girlfriend from college and she has a son and she thought it could be mine." Lindsay sat there staring at him, "It's not."
"When the hell were you planning on telling me?"
"After I knew the results."
"Were you still going to tell me, since he isn't?" Danny paused, "That pause is all the answer I need." Lindsay got up to leave but Danny grabbed her arm.
"Let me explain."
"You don't get to I trusted you and I thought that there was a good possibility of me spending the rest of my life with you, apparently I was the only one."
"You weren't."
"No, because someone who was seriously thinking about spending the rest of their life with someone wouldn't lie, and let them use their imagination to wonder why you were sneaking around with another woman."
"I didn't make you think those things."
"There should have been no reason; you should have been man enough to tell me the truth. I knew I should have stuck with my first reaction and never made myself vulnerable to you, because I can't do this." Lindsay walked to the locker-room and Danny fell into his chair.

This is for afrozenheart412 for making me laugh, and feeding Gloria's ego.
