The Hunger Games: Me?!
AN: This is my first fanfic, so know that it may not be that good. I will be putting out different POVs and stuff. bye. PS. people on miiverse will be added, my miiverse user. pikawow. Josh's POV
Today was the day people were chosen to be in the games of death and I don't want to be one of the people chosen to go. "And I won't be that person." They choose a name, and it is "Primrose Everdeen" the lady yells out. She starts to walk, but someone comes in. "Stop! I volunteer to take her place* Prim hugs the girl and gets back into the crowd, and then the older girl walks up to the stage. She whispers something to the lady, and the lady says "Katniss Everdeen will take place for Primrose" then she pulls out another name. My heart pounds hard, and she yells out "Peeta Mellark." He walks up, I thought relieved, but she then picks out a third name and calls out "Josh Wolf". I was scared but somehow I managed to walk up. Why did they pick a third name?" She pulls out the last name "Emily Fox." She is a kid that looks my age, and she walks up too. We all walk into the building behind us. They now bring us to a train area behind the final doors which were huge. She says "My name is Effie Trinket, and may the odds be ever in your favor." She walks into the train and we follow her. I sit by the window and I pick up a cookie along the way to my seat. Katniss sits in front of me and Peeta sits next to Katniss and Emily sits behind me. ". . ." The train starts moving and I look at the passing scenery.
Katniss's POV
Why did they pick kids and people my age too, we haven't been in this world as long as the adults. Why can't they be chosen to be in the games? "Hmm" A guy walks in and he says "I will be your mentor, so first my name is Haymitch, and we'll be at our destination soon.". As we enter The Capitol, Peeta waves out the window and the train slows down to a stop. We all get off the train, and Effie says to follow her into this building and she says she'll see us soon. When I look out the window it's darker outside. I walk around looking through the huge dining and living room. Effie opens the door and food servants follow behind her. The servants prepare the food in the dining room. "Mmm food, I've forgotten about my hunger." I walk into the huge dining room and I set up my plate. I see Josh walk in and Emily walks in after, then they prepare their food. Finally, Peeta and Haymitch come in and get their food. Once I noticed her, Effie was already sitting down. "Tomorrow will be the day you go to the training area" Effie says and then continues to her food. I eat my plate and head out to the rooms.
Josh's POV
I walk to a room and sit on the bed thinking about the day. I see Emily walk into her room and then I look out the window. It's now pitch black and silent. I lay down and fall asleep.
Emily's POV
I should talk to Josh because he is probably one of the only other kids in these Games. Tomorrow I should befriend him. Kids need to stick together, but I think this will be the hardest part of our lives. I go to sleep thinking about tomorrow.
Morning
I get up seeing a training suit and I put it on and walk out of my room. I see Josh exit his room next and he walks away into the living room with everyone else. Effie tells us what our training will be about and she walks us to the training area. I see a bunch of weapons and obstacles as I walk in. To Be Continued in Chapter 2
