Honored Guests. Revered Vikings. Beloved Friends and Family. Today is a happy day. Today two people have come together to show us what it means to love someone as much as they love themself. Today we are here to celebrate and give guidance to these two young people as they embark on a new chapter in their lives.
Hiccup and Astrid. You two have been through so much together. The dragon raids, the Red Death, the dragon hunters, the loss of loved ones, and now this. This big step you're taking together into the rest of your lives. Now most people would give advice based on their own lives, but I have found examples from your own past to help you.
First, from when you were fifteen. Astrid when you first found out about Toothless and how Hiccup beat you in dragon training, you freaked out. But then Hiccup opened your eyes to the truth about him and dragons. My advice for you, do what you were unwilling to do then. Trust and listen to Hiccup.
Next, from when you were twenty. Hiccup you didn't believe in yourself and what you could do. You lost faith in you. But Astrid didn't; she pointed out what you should have seen from the beginning. My advice for you, do what you didn't believe possible for someone like you. Trust and listen to Astrid.
Now my advice for both of you combined. Trust and listen to each other. You are now in this together. Whatever one of you does, so does the other. Don't fight with each other, fother together for each other. Talk things through. Work things out. Whatever happens, know that you'll always have someone in your corner. Know that you'll always have someone to turn to.
It may sound like I'm saying the same thing over again, but it will help when all the cards are down, and the world seems like it's falling apart around you. Trust is the key to a successful relationship. Listening is the key to a happy life. So trust and listen.
