First Day of Hogwarts

Tonks was scared. It was late at night and she was still awake.

She was going to Hogwarts tomorrow and as excited as she had been, she was scared of embarrassing herself during her first week.

She slowly crept out of bed and walked into the kitchen where her mother and Aunt Melissa were talking softly.

They smiled at her as she approached.

"Scared for tomorrow?" Andromeda asked her gently.

Tonks nodded her head quickly, her hair was very pale and obvious sign of her fear.

"Don't worry about it, you'll be fine," Aunt Melissa said. "Did your mother tell you about her first practically charms lesson?"

Andromeda groaned. "You just had to bring that up, didn't you?"

Aunt Melissa only smiled.

"We were learning the levitation spell, Wingardium Leviosa. At that time they did not give us feathers to use, rather they had various items that were different sizes, shaped and weights so we could practice according to our ability. Your mother tried the spell for the first time on the smallest item and instead of levitating the missile shot straight towards our Charms Professor," Melissa said.

Tonks giggled.

"It hit our Professor straight on his forehead and just before he passed out he said: "If at first you don't succeed, try try again" as if he had rehearsed it. She had been the first student to try it too so we had the rest of the Charms lesson off," Melissa chuckled.

"Did everyone make mother go first for every practical after that?" Tonks asked Aunt Melissa curiously, seeing her mother shake her head in the background with slightly pink cheeks.

"They did but you're mother did not let it happen again. She had embarrassed herself enough the first time and although it was difficult she persevered," Aunt Melissa said.

"So remember, my little Nymph, you can't possibly embarrass yourself more than I had. Even my best friend is unable to stop laughing even after so many years. Just do your best," her mother said finally.

Tonks went to bed smiling at her mother's story.
