"Do you think Ball misses us?"

"It's hard to say. I wonder what he's doing right now."

The two stood beside each other on their planet, treasuring these moments without any of the other angels and devils disturbing them. A pause followed, and then:

"Do you think Mei misses us?" A resounding smack went through the air as one hit the other upside the head, anger splashed across her face.

"And why are you asking about her, Jio?"

"Just wondering! I did know her for several years back when you were 'sleeping.'" Jio scratched the back of his head, grinning playfully at Ruby. After a few moments, Ruby sighed and started laughing herself. Relaxing her aggressive stance slightly.

After all these years and all this time of being on such an isolated planet, the two of them had not grown tired of each other. Sure Ruby had left him for Cross at one point, but that's another story, and the main thing is that she went back to Jio after a few hours. The two were closer than brother and sister, closer than lovers; they were almost the same person by now.

The two quieted down and went back to watching the two suns in this system rise little by little, too far away to do any damage to their impromptu settlement. After a while, Jio broke the silence.

"I was asking because I miss both her and Ball. They were, and I'd like to think still are, our best friends. Sometimes, when it's too quite to concentrate on anything else, I wonder what happened to the two of them; if they're alive, if they're doing well, if they're happy, those sort of questions. Then I think, what if they're wondering about us in the same way? I wish there were some way that neither of us had to worry." Ruby turned slightly to look at Jio as he sighed and stared at the sunset, his eyes scrunched slightly, though whether it was because of the light or because he was sad, Ruby could not tell.

"You know what I think? I think that if they're worrying about us, they have no reason to be. Just like they're probably thinking that there's no reason for you to be worrying about them." Jio turned slightly, looking her in the eye.

"You really think that they're doing alright?"

"Yes, I do. And you should know by now never to question a woman's intuition." Ruby smiled slightly and stretched out her hand to Jio's, twining their fingers together in a reassuring way. Jio merely smiled back at her for a moment before turning once again to the sunset, but, Ruby noted, his eyes were no longer scrunched up. Neither moved to undo their fingers from the note they were currently in. Neither moved to speak until both suns had risen well above the ground, casting light and shadow across their planet.

"So, do you think Ball and Mei miss us?"

"Yes, but they aren't worried. They know they'll see us again one day."
