Prologue: Unseen
AN: Hopefully, you're all intelligent enough to understand that we do not own any of these characters, and many of the words and places (especially elements of the plot) are borrowed from JK Rowling's Harry Potter. Enjoy!
Draco tried to ignore the commotion that surrounded him in the Department of Mystery. 'Your stupid curiosity is going to get you killed someday,' he said to himself. You're almost as bad as that snooping mudblood—"Granger!" —He shouted in surprise as one of her hexes almost hit her. Her beautiful brown eyes widened as she looked around to see who had called her, but she quickly snapped her attention back to the task at hand. 'Of course, wherever Potter, goes she follows,' he thought bitterly. But he had to ignore those thoughts—and feelings—because the Death Eaters were hurling hexes and unforgivable curses toward the DA and one of them narrowly missed Draco's head. As he turned to avoid the near miss a black and silver object the shape and size of a snitch glinted in his peripheral. He caught it instinctively. Knowing that he was in way over his head and had to leave before he got caught or killed, he put the ball in his pocket, turned, and fled, but only after checking for Hermione's safety.
--------------------
Back in his room and safe from the havoc in the Department of Mystery, he spun the black ball which had an intricate silver dragon design and he recounted the days events to himself. He had been looking outside his bedroom window with his invisispectors that night when he noticed Potter flying on his broom. He had noticed that Potter had been acting more weirdly, more secretively this year and the behavior seemed to be spreading throughout the school except for the Slytherins who did not seem to be accepted into this club. Although he did not wish to be included in this group (all the non-Slytherins at Hogwarts seemed to have their heads up their arses anyway—apparently they were too good to associate with the "evil" side) he couldn't help but to be interested. As he had watched Harry Potter and company mount their brooms, he decided to follow them. And for all that hard work and the near encounters with death he found himself holding a small silver ball with a black dragon.
"Might as well throw it away," he thought out loud and he got up to walk to the trash can. He looked at the ball one last time and was about to throw it when, "Wait a minute! This was black with a silver dragon just a minute ago. How did it just change into a silver ball with a black dragon?" He was about to replace it into his pocket when someone opened the door startling him. He dropped the ball and feared that he'd broken it. "Bloody hell!" he shouted and got down on his knees to look for it.
"'Bloody hell' what?" Blaise asked chuckling, but he stopped laughing as his pale and worry-stricken friend turned towards him and got up from the floor. "What's up, Draco?"
"Nothing," Draco lied to his best mate. "I just thought I saw something move here. A spider or…" Draco paused as he noticed the ball floating directly in front of Blaise.
Blaise seemed unaware as he asked, "or what?"
"Don't you see that?" Draco asked in a low whisper.
"See what?"
Knowing that Blaise couldn't see the ball, he decided to keep his mouth shut about it. No matter what world you were in, seeing or hearing things that others couldn't got you labeled as crazy. "Nothing. I guess that I'm just tired. "'Night." He quickly said before Blaise could ask him anything else. The ball followed him.
Invisispectors - Rare glasses that let you see things even if they are magically hidden kind of like Mad-Eye Moodys eye. But these are way cooler. You can see perfectly in the dark as if it where day...et cetera. (aka etc.)
