Four letter words

"Lilly, i love you."

Boom! There it is. The four letter word. Oh, my God. Is this real? Lilly thought. There was her best friend, study buddy, and boyfriend, Oliver, standing in front of her, telling her he loves her. Love. Love was something she had only been in once, with Oliver. She was too nervous to tell him, mainly because no matter how comfortable you can be with a person, there is certain things that you just can't do.

Oliver began to look worried. Lilly was speechless, which was something she's usually not. Ever. He slumped his shoulders out of the confident pose he was in. He thought he had it all planned, everything. What he would wear, where they would go, what they would do. But this was not part of the plan. In his plan, he was dressed up on the beach. He would pop the statment and she would hug him tightly, tears of joys in her eyes. But what he had now was Lilly, looking surprised and weirded out.

Oliver cleared his throat. "Lilly, i'm sorry... i just hoped, you know... just nevermind." He said this and began to walk away. Lilly snapped out of it and hurried a couple of steos tward him to grab his hand and gently put it back. "Where are you going?" she asked as if there was no reason he could be dissapointed.

"Well, i just made a complete idiot out of myself and i planned on going home and thinking about how retarded i am." he said simply, his face tward the ground.

"When did you make an idiot out of yourself? Because whenever you're around me, you're the best and smartest guy alive."

"Lilly, so what does that mean?" Oliver asked getting aslight and sweet twinkle in his eyes.

"I love you, you doughnut!" she said and wrapped her arms around him tightly, whispering in his ear, "and i think you knew that."

"Okay, what the heck?! You're like, 'durrrrrruhhhhh', and you like left me there worried?! But i guess i love you, right? 'Cus, you know, that's kinda what this whole conversation is about... Am i making sense now?"

"Uh, no, not really. I'm just smiling and nodding so you won't get bot of us confused, okay? But, let's get one thing straight. Do we love each other?"

Oliver nodded his head slowly.

"Okay, let's get back to the hugging thing then," Lilly said with a soft giggle.

They wrapped their arms around each other and got as close as they could, and Oliver whispered to her, "Can i do something?"

Lilly smiled as a sign of "Yeah, of course." Oliver leaned in and kissed her on the cheek. It gave both of them an addrenaline rush and Lilly's knees got weak. If that'll happen to me when that happens, imagine what'll happen when the real stuff starts happening! she thought to herself.

Oliver smiled and pushed her bangs behind her ear. He put his a hands back by his side and Lilly took it in hers. She layed her head on his shoulder and they both walked out into the sunset, both glowing. It wasn't from the sun, it was from they're hearts.
