A wail broke through the quiet of the night.

Amy rolled over, pulling a pillow over her head with a loud groan. From beside her she felt Rory sit and yawn. "I got it," he softly said, "Go back to sleep." The weight shifted further on the bed as her husband got off to walk a room away to get their little girl, Melody Pond, or River Song, taken care of.

They were in the TARDIS. It was safe for them.

At that moment they were hiding from the people trying to take her daughter, her bloody little girl, from the clutches of people who wanted to use her as a weapon to kill her raggedy doctor.

Not on her watch would she let anyone harm her boys and, now, her little girl.

The crying from the room quieted as Rory must have gotten her to either be quiet or to sleep. Standing from the bed she crossed her arms across her chest to keep the warmth before reaching out and grabbing one of Rory's shirts to pull over her body so she wouldn't be walking around in her underwear.

Walking from the room, her feet padding across the cool floor, she buttoned a few buttons up.

Standing in the doorway of the room she saw Rory holding Melody along his forearm. The look on his face was the same that he had when looking down at the baby the first time he saw her. Amy walked across the floor quietly to wrap her arms around his slim waist.

His head turned and she caught his light colored eyes with her green ones. She looked down at her child a warm smile across her face. Removing a hand from his waist she brushed her daughter's soft hair away.

"She's perfect," she whispered.

Rory set Melody down in her crib before turning to look at Amy. "I can see where she got it from."

Another smile spread across her face as she wrapped her arms around his neck and kissed him gently. When she pulled away she said fondly, "You and your stupid face."

A/N

I do not own any of these characters no matter how much I wish I did.

Just a short, AU one-shot. First Doctor Who fanfiction of any kind and so I know I need to work on it more, obviously.

I hope you enjoyed reading it. Please point out any mistakes. I really enjoy getting reviews so feel free to drop one by!
