AN: Not sure why I thought of this. I know that people will bite my head off for this but I don't really care. Read and review if you like, if not, do whatever you want with this drabble.

Yuma = Aker (his Egyptian name, meaning "victorious")

Spoilers: I guess it's sorta AU but it is a bit spoilerish if you haven't seen the last arc of Duel Monsters.

Brothers

"Brother..." a small child whispered. He looked exactly like his brother, black hair mixed with purple and blonde highlights. "He is coming isn't he? Uncle?"

"Aker. It's alright." the older spoke, turning to face his little brother. "I will always protect you, even in death."

"Don't speak like that, brother!" the child, now known as Aker, cried. "I... I... I will..."

"You will live and continue my legacy." his brother, the king of their homeland, stated firmly as he picked up the small body in front of him and walked a couple of steps behind his throne, where a hidden door stood, unknown by anyone but the Pharaoh himself. "Hide in there. Do not leave until you are certain that he has left. Once you are, take my puzzle and flee the country. May the deities be with you." with that, he pushed his brother inside, took off his puzzle and gave it to him and than closed the door.

Aker stared at the wall-like door, about to cry for him to let him out when he heard a new voice, his brother going to greet the person.

What followed was something the little boy would never speak of again as he clutched his brother's puzzle close to him. Just as the door was about to be opened, the last thing the boy saw was a pair of bloodied hands before a flash of golden light appeared, causing both the boy and the puzzle to disappear in face of his uncle.

Several thousands of years later...

"Yuma!" the small child looked up from his drawing, to face his older brother Yuugi. "I completed the puzzle!"

Suddenly, the boy could feel his brother with him again.

Like he had never left in the first place.

AN: I'm sorry if it's confusing or anything... not even sure how I got to this... I guess you could call it artistic freedom? I hope you liked it xD
