Title: Shut It Down

Summary: Drabble, McGee-centric

A/N: A long time coming, but I had oh-so-much fun.

Tim McGee thought himself a noble knight in the service of his country, one of the white and shining varieties. However, the majority of the time he was unaware of the outside forces that manipulated an investigation. When, on occasion, he stumbled upon a potentially explosive variable, he took it in stride and waited for orders. He is comfortable functioning like this, comfortable knowing where the line between work and life stops. He likes the fact that he can go to sleep to the humming of a computer, and not have such dynamics keeping him awake at night. But we shouldn't paint him as complacent, no. He is entirely prepared to throw himself to the wolves for the sake of something greater. So, a pawn in a very great game he may be, but his sleep is unhindered.
