Bound, bound to each other, complete opposites yet one in the same.

Moon and ocean, they followed each other, whether they wanted to or not. They were linked in patterns of the waves and phases of the satellite; within ebbtide and lunar crescents did their hearts lie.

And lie they did.

Such denial thrown to the winds, to the heart-shaped moon; the glimmering ocean always caught those submerged hopes, hopes Nobodies like them should not have.

Staring, staring. The Nocturne lost himself in topaz eyes, eyes so like the moon with their unreachable gleam.

Gazing opposite, Saïx forgot all else in magnetic ocean eyes, innocent green and blue mixed, mirthfully concealing deep secrets no one else but he could find.

For every cold, stoic glare the Diviner shot him, Demyx always returned a soft smile, pacific eyes understanding.

VII found himself unable to push away the younger Nobody, feeling weary, bulletproof chains old as time shackling them together, wrist to wrist and ankle to ankle.

Just like the ocean and moon's magnetic dance; where one went, the other soon followed, like iron flakes flitting after north and south poles. They could not part.

The ocean-eyed Nobody always caught Saïx as he fell. He was always there, pressing a chaste kiss to the Diviner's temple and whispering that they didn't need hearts to love. The imprints of love from their past lives were enough.

The ocean disappeared not long after that, taken away by the so-called hero; the moon fell and fell in melancholia, having no Nobody with eyes like the sea to catch him and hold him close.

The battle came and the brunette Keyblade-wielding Somebody soon dispatched the Diviner to wherever it is the Nobodies go when they fade; ocean eyes glimmered in relief and those familiar, lanky arms wrapped around his waist, a seraphic face pressing warmly into his black-clad chest, both of them still in Organization cloaks.

Together they drifted on riptide tsunamis to where moon and ocean could remain forever, the echo in their ribcages replaced with undeniably real heartbeats.

As aloof and distant as it may seem, the moon always followed Demyx, hand in flawless hand with the waiting sea. Possessive molten eyes always watched protectively over the childlike Nobody, pulling him close to chase away all memory of their nightmares that hid in the darkest corner of their minds.

The tides always brought them back, closely followed by half-moons and their precious hearts dangled high in the atmosphere, floating just out of reach with a forever that would never be theirs, a forever they could only dream of.
