A/N I can see Jai maintaining a dual citizenship if India allows it.

Where Do We Go From Here?

In the weeks since she and Jai Wilcox had returned from Sri Lanka Annie Walker felt like all she was doing was just picking up the pieces. Pieces of her heart and pieces of her life.

Jai was also wondering what the future would hold. Now that there was no real reason for him to still be assigned to Langley. Neither was there any more reason for continuing to get to know Annie. However as the time had passed he'd discovered that he really did enjoy spending time with her both as a friend and a colleague.

It was a Friday night when both agents as well as computer specialist Auggie Anderson found themselves at Allen's Tavern the favorite hangout for some of the CIA personnel. A first round of beers had been ordered and the two men were waiting for Annie to join them.

"I'm being sent back to the Farm effective Monday," Annie said as she took her seat at the table and reached for the bottle already at her place.

"It's probably just to finish your training," Auggie tried to reassure her. "Considering your field experience there shouldn't be much to learn."

"I know. But I can't be sure where I'll be assigned after I finish training. I'd really like to still stay with the DPD. I've become very fond of certain people there," she replied looking at her table companions.

"I'm sure Joan can make sure you stick around," Auggie said and dropped his voice to an exaggerated whisper. "She is sleeping with her boss you know."

Annie looked confused for a long moment before she started to laugh as she caught on.

"And now she gets it," Jai announced.

The young woman gave each man a mock glare and warned, "If I hear even one blonde joke from either of you I do know ways to get even."

"You're blonde? I never would have guessed," Auggie said taking a sip of his beer.

"What about you, Jai? What are you going to do now?" Annie asked.

The agent looked thoughtful as he replied, "I don't really know now that there's no longer any reason for me to be assigned here. Been thinking about taking some time off and going home for a visit. Been a while since I spent time there."

"At least your mother probably knows what you do for a living. I think I'm rapidly running out of excuses, lies and half truths to tell Daniele," the young woman told him.

"The sacrifices we make to keep our families safe and our covers intact," Jai commented.

"I love my sister and her family dearly but sometimes it's so hard to make her understand why I'm always gone," Annie replied .

"Have you ever been to India?" Jai asked suddenly.

"I've thought about it but never got the chance," the young woman replied.

"You really should come see it. Perhaps if you do while I'm there then I could show you around and maybe meet my mother," he told her.

"After you finish seeing your mom, what do you think you'll do?" Auggie asked.

"I did hear there is an opening in Paris so perhaps I should practice my French," Jai replied smiling.

Auggie shook his head and joked, "Just what Paris needs-the CIA's most eligible bachelor distracting all the females."

"If you had your choice would you stay here with us?" Annie was asking Jai.

"I think like to. Like you I've become fond of certain people here," the agent replied and added, Even you, Auggie."

"Oh, I am so fortunate to know that," the computer specialist replied with mock sarcasm before taking a sip of beer.

"Here's to the future. May we always be together," Annie said raising her own bottle in a toast.
