My Trump
How did I find her, you ask me? That was so long ago... But those bits lived in my mind as vivid as it just happened yesterday.
I was already the Captain of the fencing team when I was in the tenth grade. That day was for me to choose which were potential club members to be on the team. After three exhausting hours, I could only find two members who actually had a bit of potential that was worth developing.
And then it was her turn to be my opponent. I did not know who she was at the time, because we were both wearing masks. I started the practice as usual.
I was soon astonished by her moves. Sharp, quick, almost like a panther catching its prey, I had to use nearly every ounce of my strength to win her. She will be the trump of the team, I thought to myself.
After the session, I immediately demanded her name. She took off her mask, and said in her low sexy voice that she was Juri Arisugawa.
At the moment she took off her mask, my heart skipped a beat. Oh my God, her front curls were really sexy! Stunned by her beauty and her sexy voice, I stared at her until she backed out into the crowd. Then I hastely dismissed the enrolling members and chased after her, but she was already out of my sight. I was so full of her that I did not remember how did I pass the rest of the day.
Luckily, at next week's club meeting, I was able to see her , her right hand was bandaged and she did not practice during the whole meeting. After teaching the team members a bit to their postures, I came up to Juri and invited her to slip out for some fresh air.
She said in agony that she hurt her wrist so much that she might not be able to fence again, and was considering to quit the club.
This sank a rock in my stomache. How can I lose this beautiful panther?
I asked her to stay for another month first, if her wrist did not get better by that time, then she could quit. I even told her my view on her techniques, her strengths and weaknesses shown in that session.
Then I invited her to join the team, no matter her hand got better or not. Her eyes gleamed, and she nodded curtly.
Three weeks passed. Her hand healed completely, and she started her first practice in the team. She beat all other team members at ease, I could actually feel that she was smiling during the whole session.
I must make her my trump, I thought of that again.
And that's why I trained her so hard, even giving her private sessions to further polish her skills. Yes, I love her, then and now, and I don't mind to get my hands dirty, or even lose her forever, as long as she's happy.
