Enchanted
For Hermione Granger, social balls and dances are the bane of her existence. Whenever she is invited to one, she would oftentimes fake an illness so she doesn't have to go. Hermione gets bored of those events. All you do there is talk, drink, and most of times, flirt with guys. And she's not that type. She would rather stay at home and read a good book. Like now, her mom ordered (yes, ordered) her to go to a ball in Liverpool later tonight. She has no choice but to go, because Mrs. Granger won't take no for an answer. She got ready, wearing a simple lavender colored dress, with matching shoes and jewelries. She kept her make-up simple, too, just a little rouge and lip color. With that, she went to the ball.
Just as she expected, it was a boring event. Girls on fancy dresses are everywhere, obviously flirting with guys. The sight revolted her. She went to the bar, ordered a drink, more bored and upset than when she arrived at the ball. It was there when she saw him. She just stared, transfixed at the man. He is tall, has a platinum blonde hair, pink, soft-looking lips, and beautiful grey eyes. Those eyes swept the room, and his gaze fell on her. With graceful steps, he slowly approached her.
"Hello," he greeted her with a smile.
"Hi," she replied.
"Why are you sulking in here? This is a party, you should have fun," he asked.
"Actually, this is not what I want to do to spend the night," she said with a frown.
"You'd just rather read a good book while drinking tea, wouldn't you?" he deduced.
"Er, ye - yes," Hermione stammered, blushing.
"By the way, I am Draco Malfoy. I just live three houses away from yours," he said, offering his hand.
Hermione was shocked. How can't she know that this man exist just three houses away from her?
"Oh, really? That's great!" she exclaimed, shaking his hand. He has the softest hand she'd ever shaken, she noticed. They stayed that way the whole night, just talking about nothing in particular, but it's obvious that they enjoy each other's company. They were two of the last people who got out of the venue. It was really fun, and Hermione wanted the night to never end.
"See you around, Draco. Goodbye. I really had a great time," she said with a smile.
"Me, too, Hermione. See you around. Good night," he replied. Then Hermione just felt the quick peck Draco left on her cheek. The kiss is brief but it was enough to make Hermione feel butterflies fluttering in her stomach. Please don't be in love with someone else, Draco, she silently said to him. She started her way to her car when Draco called her.
"Hermione!" he said. She turned and walked back to him.
"Yes?"
"I forgot to say something."
"What?"
"I was enchanted to meet you, Ms. Granger," he said, smiling. That smile made her heart stutter in her chest.
"I was enchanted to meet you, too, Mr. Malfoy," she said softly. If you only knew, she silently added. He just smiled the whole time, and she decided to do something she has never done before. She kissed Draco Malfoy.
"Good bye," she whispered after the kiss. She walked to her car. Hermione didn't expect to have so much fun at that kind of event, but she did. And now, she just wishes that will not be the first and last time she's going to see Draco. And she has to admit, she is more than enchanted to meet Draco Malfoy.
