Athrun's Amateur Poem

Athrun was pacing the floor of his large house, his midnight blue hair messed and his green eyes filled with nervousness. Tonight he planned to ask Cagalli to marry him and he wanted to do something for her he had never done for any other girl. He stopped pacing and his eyes became bright as he walked over to his desk and picked up his pen and started to write.

later that night

Everything was set, tonight was the full moon shone brightly as he finished setting up the picnic. A blanket, two glasses, two plates, some utensils and some food, including strawberries covered in chocolate.

He saw her walking towards him in long black pants, a white top and a small dark forest green jacket, with her hair pulled back in a hairclip. To him she was just as beautiful as the day he met her, the day she shot him and he went after her with a knife. Even now thinking of how it all begun was amusing to him.

They ate first, pasta and potato bake and than Athrun stood up and moved in front of the full moon, which now looked so huge that it could cover the whole courtyard, he than pulled out his very amateur poem and started to reading, ignoring the blush that started on his face and the look from Cagalli.

How Do I Love Thee?

I love thee like the oceans spray upon my warm face,

I love thee like the flowers love the sun,

Like the stars love the night sky,

Like the Gundam loves the oil,

(He chose to ignore Cagalli's snort of laughter at that point.)

Like the butterfly loves the colors,

How do I compare thee to a summer's day?

I can not, for without thee my days are all winter,

Cold and biting,

How do I compare thee to a candle flickering in my heart?

I can not, for thee's amber eyes are like a wild fire of passion

Setting my soul on fire and making me need more,

How do I compare thee to an adventurer,

I can not, because being with thee is an adventure,

How to put into words the way I feel,

I can not, for there are no words in this world that describes our love,

So let me finish by saying,

You own me, heart, soul, mind and body,

And I am willing to be owned by you for 10000 lifetimes,

Now as I stand here before you I ask not one but two things,

Are you willing to spend one life time with me and make it seem like 10000?

And two, would you like to wake up with me everyday like the sun,

For my love, I am not wanting to spend it with any other but you.

Athrun cleared his throat and looked at Cagalli, as she stood up with her eyes wide with shock and love, he got down and placed the poem in his pocket and than reached inside his jacket and pulled out a small diamond ring.

"Cagalli, Will you marry me?" her eyes started to water and a smile broke upon her face.

"Of coarse I will stupid."

The End.
