Somehow
(Based on a passage from the Two Towers by J.R.R. Tolkien.)
The beauty, the peace,
*Oh, but the frailty, that has increased,*
There's fear in the light,
*The sparse waning of courage continues to fight,*
Still I will go,
*To the Moon, and I love him, whether or no,*
Depths of black thought,
*In his poor tired mind where his vain hope was caught,*
Hope that's so new,
*And it sometimes shines through,*
*Somehow,*
*It sometimes shines through,*
Darkness so close,
*That he worries and tarries, forgets, and he goes,*
Light shining there,
*It's faintly within and a soft Elven-fair,*
*But it sometimes shines through,*
*Somehow,*
*It somehow shines through.*
The beauty, the peace,
*Oh, but the frailty, that has increased,*
There's fear in the light,
*The sparse waning of courage continues to fight,*
Still I will go,
*To the Moon, and I love him, whether or no,*

*It's faintly within and a soft Elven-fair,*
*But it sometimes shines through,*
*Somehow,*
*It somehow shines through.*
