As Gabriella walked up the circlar driveway, a rock came in her path, her black heels caught it, and she fell to the ground, hard. All her books went flying everwhere, causing Gabriella to groan in frustration. Moving to stand, she was thwarted immediately by the pain in her left leg. Spreading her legs out in front of her, she saw her knee was badly scraped and bleeding.
Bad day to wear a skirt and brand new heels, she thought.
Just as started to get up once again, she was stopped this time by a pair of strong arms scooping her up off the ground. She turned her head to see who it was and was made happy instantly with the appearance of Ryan Evans.
"Are you okay Gabby?"
"Yeah. It's just my knee is all."
"Well let's get you inside."
He tightened his grip on her and began to carry her into the house, bridal style.
"Ryan, you don't have to carry me."
"It's okay. I don't mind." He smiled sweeetly to her and she couldn't help but smile too, dispite the fact she was in pain.
He carried her into the kitchen, where he sat her on the counter top, while he searched for the needed first aid kit. He found it under the sink and went back to her.
Gabriella was entralled by the way he tended to wound. After wiping it clean, he rubbed in some antibacterial ointment which stung a little. She couldn't hold back the wince that followed after. He saw this and then he blew lightly on the cut to soothe it with his warm breath.
Gabriella definitely wanted to shudder at that moment by held it back.
After that, he sealed the wound with a band-aid and smiled, feeling accomplished.
And to be truthful, Gabriella didn't want to feel his touch leave her skin.
"All done. Feeling better?" He asked while looking at her earnestly.
At that moment, something just snapped into place inside Gabriella.
Without even thinking, she pulled Ryan into her and kissed him gently.
She waited for any signs of rejection, but he gave none. Instead, he deepened the kiss, wrapping his arms around her and moving to stand inbetween her legs that were hanging off the counter. Gabriella in turn lost moved her hands, one went to rest in his hair, the other on his jaw as she stroked it lovingly.
The kisses lasted for long time. That is until,
"Well," The sound of Sharpay's voice finally made them escape their little world.
"It's about time you too got togather. I swear, I thought if I had to go through another day with so much sexual tension, I was going to lose. Carry on."
With that, the very bubbly twin skipped upstairs, leaving Gabriella and Ryan alone.
"She's right."
"About what?" Gabriella asked.
"I've like you for a long time Gabby. I just didn't know if the feeling was mutual."
"Oh Ryan. The feeling is very, very mutual." Puncuating the "very"s with a fast kiss before taking his lips into another deep one.
Pulling away, she started to laugh.
"What is so funny?"
"The fact that I had to get injured before we finally kissed."
She continued to laugh, in which he joined, until laughter was ceased to be heard, replaced by silence as the pair shared a sweet kiss.
A/N: Not my best but I had an itching to write something. I got the idea from a dream I had last night after I scraped my own knee, except in my dream, Lucas was tending to my wound. He is so gorgeous. Oh, and I'm deleting "A Year of Changes". I know I only posted it last night but I've lost my muse for writing it. I'm hoping to come up with soething new soon.
