Coricopat scratched at the wire mesh that kept him from the outside world. He hissed, trying to see where they were. For some reason, his and his sister's owners packed up their stuff and them and left from the junkyard, their home. He didn't know where they were going and he wished he did. All he knew was there was no scent of the Jellicle's anymore. He was starting to fret. The little bell on his collar jingled endlessly as the car hit bump after bump on the road.
"Cori? What's happening?" Tantomile asked from the cage beside his. Coricopat sighed, poking his paw through the bars of the door to touch his sister's paw. They were mystical twins, known to have powers. Only them and the Magical Mister Mistoffelees had powers like that. But they were far away from their friend.
"We've moved from the junkyard Tants." Was all he said, before growing quiet as their owners turned to them.
After several long hours, the car stopped. Coricopat opened his eyes sleepily to see the fifteen year old daughter of their owners picking up her bag and slinging it over her shoulder.
"Bethany, why don't you take the cats upstairs to your room? Don't let them out till we finish putting the boxes inside okay?" The older female said. The daughter name Bethany smiled.
"Okay Mom. Alright you two, let's go inside and wait." She said, taking them in their crates upstairs to their room. Coricopat shook in the back of his crate as Bethany walked up to her new room. She put both crates down on the floor, looking into them.
"Oh Peter, Penelope is shaking. Here." She said, opening the door to Tantomile's crate. She picked up the dark calico female and placed her in Cori's crate.
"There you go. I'll be back in a bit to let you two out okay?" She said, leaving the room. Tantomile curled under her brother, shuddering. Cori nuzzled his sister affectionately.
"It'll be alright Tants. It'll be okay." He kept saying, watching the outside for the longest time.
After about some more agonizing hours, Bethany came back up with the last box.
"Gosh. I really want to go back home. This place will never be home." She said, sitting on the floor and opening the cat crate. She waited until Peter and Penelope came out on their own, inspecting the room.
"We hopefully will be back in England in a couple of months. Dad won't keep that job forever." She said, stroking Coricopat's back, making him jump.
"Sorry baby." She said, then got up, grabbing her music player and bouncing on her bed. Coricopat jumped up on the computer desk, looking out the window. This wasn't home. All around them was woods, nothing more.
"Where are we?" Tantomile asked her brother as she jumped beside him.
"I don't know." Was all he said.
