The blonde college student sat at her desk, she buried her hands over her face and sighed. "Fuck school." She cursed and pushed the stacked papers off her desk and heard them plop onto the brown carpet of her dorm with a thud. She couldn't focus. She took her coke-bottle thick glasses off her face and sat them down onto her desk careful not to break the fragile objects. She hated almost everything in her life except her roommate. Sometimes she was the only thing that got her through the day.

behind her she heard the door open, no doubt it was her roommate lapis herself. The taller tan girl opened the door and let herself inside. "Peri? You up?" She called, locking the door behind her. No response. Lapis frowned lightly. Peridot never was an extrovert when it came to conversation but not talking to her own roommate? That was a bit over the top. Lapis sighed inwardly walking down the narrow hallway inside the dorm and looked for peridots room number. 'Room 109' she repeated to herself, half hesitating to twist the knob on the door, worried her roommate would scald her for something she had done wrong, or for something she forgot to do.

The other half of her wanted to see peridot. Lapis swallowed her pride and opened the door, it creaked loudly, as if the hinges were old and rusted. The room inside was dark, the only real light coming from peridots desk lamp, which was almost burnt out at this point. Lapis saw peridot, curled up in her small twin bed covering her face with the blanket. Lapis felt a pang of sadness in her heart, like a needle weaving it's way through her rib cage.

Carefully she walked over to peridot, avoiding the creaking floor boards like a solider in a mine field. She crept over to the small blonde and sat down next to her on the small bed. "Hey what's wrong-"

"I'm fine." Peridot cut her off.

"no you're not." Lapis cuddled up with her, resting her head on the smaller girls neck. "Something's bothering you, I can tell." Lapis spoke calmly.

Peridot shifted uncomfortably. "I'm just worried if I'll pass this year. My grades are in the toilet."

"Peridot, an 87% isn't 'in the toilet'." Lapis chuckled.

"Well it is to me!" Peridot chirped in a high pitch tone which was almost hard to take as serious.

"Aw, my angry little space Dorito." Lapis pecked her on the cheek.

"Everything we'll be fine peri, even in I have to fight the principle to make him give you and A in history." Lapis cooed, She spoke sarcasm fluently.

The two girls fell asleep in the small twin bed. Morning coming sooner than either of them had expected.

Lapis grunted and groaned trying to wake up. She saw peridot getting out of the bed and getting ready for school, their first class was at 8 sharp. "Noooooo, peri come baaack." Lapis wined rolling over in the bed. she looked up at her girlfriend with pleading eyes. Peridot sighed changing her clothes for school "no lapis I have to go." She said with a bit of hesitation in her voice. Lapis frowned, but then grinned up at her partner. "I'll make it worth you're while~" she cooed, winking at peridot. Peridot blushed deep green but ignored lapis's comment, "n-no, I have to go to algebra, we can deal with the err later." Peridot stated, looking away. "Pfft ok." Lapis laughed. "You're loss~" she sarcastically said watching peridot leave.

Lapis herself was bored, she hated waiting for peridot to get back, she plopped onto the bed. "6 hours 54 minutes and 34 seconds till peri gets back." Lapis looked around the room bored. "What to do, what to do..." She said looking at the ceiling fan turn.

'Peri better keep her word.' Lapis said before drifting back into sleep.
