You felt invisible.

It was like you were standing underneath a floor of glass, screaming and banging on it trying to get the attention of the rest of the world going about their lives without you. It was like no one could see you or hear you or even knows you're trapped there.

And just when you thought you couldn't sink any further, it was like someone had gripped you by the ankles and pulled you further down into a dark, bottomless shaft, leaving you to wonder if and when your fall will end. And as you look back to where you feel he is, where you know you need to return to, you can see him receding further into the distance; the proverbial light becoming dimmer and dimmer, while the shaft into which you are falling become deeper, darker, and all the more enveloping.

The darkness was filled with nothing but your own sadness and suffering, so when a dim light appeared somewhere in the distance, you couldn't stop your eyes widening in hope. You make the futile effort to climb back up towards the little rays of light that something, no, someone, radiates in the soulless pit and somewhere inside you, you get the urge to scream. So you do. You scream.

"Somebody!" Your heart is beating erratically now as you scream into the void. "Anybody! Help!"

You felt cold and numb as your clothes clung to your body, your grip loosening before you were thrown back into the dark abyss. When the sadness and despair began to course through you, a hand lunged forward and gripped your own tightly.

Suddenly you lifted your face and your eyes widened at the sight in front of you. "Kuroko."

Palms touch and fingers entwine, the bases of your hands are so close that the warmth in between is shared, completely one. Your move together as he tugged your very being towards the dim light which has only gotten brighter. Your eyes start to water under the intensity of the light and you clasped his hand tighter as you peer up. You were sure that, just for a second, he smiled. As soon as you caught the subtle curve of the lips all the despair and sadness that clogged your heart whisked away like leaves caught in a heavy gust of wind. Warmth rushed through your veins and filled your body. The happiness of knowing someone had come to rescue your from the deep pit of depression flared in your eyes.

You repeated his name like a prayer, your lips turning into a soft smile which in return made his heart skip a beat and send heat to his cheeks. With the touch of his hand, you didn't feel so invisible anymore.
