Ice and storm and death surround,
Gales scream the harshest sound,
Beasts prowl outside the cavern gate
And all are blinded to their fate.
But all ignored for need of one
When all other faith is gone.
The trail is hard and scratched from stone,
But only bitter when walked alone.
A step at my side, a sword to my aide;
The only soul who never betrayed.
To the edge of death itself we've gone,
Lands where daylight never shone
And horrors stalked us night and day,
But never lost along the way.
Deaf am I to Sovngarde's call;
The Dovahkiin may refuse to fall
When guarded by a heart so bold
My shield of comfort from the cold.
Down in the blankets and furs on the ground
With more than a comrade's oath we are bound,
Storm cloud eyes my restless sky
And no more the fire do I deny.
Armour falls like scattered snow,
Heart unguarded in candles glow.
Let legends sing of Dovahkiin
And all the terrors we have seen,
But keep apart this hidden sight
Of the Dragonborn, and winter night.
