It's the day to finally burry Christine Daae's body, and not many people came to witness her funeral.
Raoul sits next to Christine's casket in his wheel chair, with an aide by his side. Grieving alone with no one's support was the hardest part. Christine was his life, and his reason to live.
Some family and friends of Christine showed, but nothing overwhelming. After her fathers death Christine quickly faded and no one remembered her.
There was one person, a strange man, standing in the back of the small clutter of people at the graveyard. He was wearing a long, black, hooded cape. It was impossible to see his face. He never talked, never moved, never shed a tear, until everyone was gone and the ceremony was finished.
He was still standing there, over Christine's tombstone after her casket was put in the ground. Just staring.
As the priest was getting ready to leave the graveyard, he noticed the strange man still standing there, alone. He cautiously made his way closer, until he heard the man mumbling something.
It sounded like he was singing, softly. The priest kept hearing the phrase "Angle of Music." He sensed this man had to be very close to Christine Daae.
The man sounded as if he was weeping, and close to crying. He finally looked up at the priest revealing the white mask he always wore. The Phantom had returned.
He moved slowly to Christine's tombstone, put down a rose with a black ribbon tied around it, and quietly left, disappearing into the foggy night.
