Drabble – Myth/ Legend
The evening was peaceful and quiet, a rarity for these two men. Usually their days ended as they had began, full of chaos and clutter.
They were sitting on the balcony looking down on the city below. Neither was speaking. One reached over and gently took the others hand. This action spoke volumes in their quiet conversation.
Hephaestion sighed and put his head back against the chair he was sitting in. Alexander glanced his direction and watched the moonlight play on his face. His stomach lurch and his heart beat a little louder from the sight before him. His eyes sparkled with love for the man sitting beside him.
As Alexander continued to gaze at his beloved, his thoughts drifted to something he had overheard that very day. Some people were talking about him, the great King, saying he would become a legend and people would write great things about him. Alexander had been a little flatter by the words but soon forgot them as his busy day proceeded.
Now, looking at the man on his left, he knew the real reason he would become a legend. It was because of the many sacrifices of this one modest man.
